SESSION 96: 2ND NIGHT, 7/28/05
The day began early for me. Late to bed I still awoke at my normal time, around 7:30 AM, deciding I might as well catch the breakfast already paid for [at my B&B]. Then I again walked and rewalked [downtown], bought the kids’ birthday gifts, and spent time at the university bookstore. Finally I met [Scribe] at [his neighborhood pub] some time after 5:00 PM and had an excellent tour of the brewing facilities with him and brewmaster [T.], whom I very much enjoyed personally. Following this, [F.T.] (of “art & wanderlust are one” fame) performed his own songs, along with a friend who played a harp guitar; we had a nice Indian dinner. All was well when we and [A--] sat down again to the board. This was the only day of the five when the temperature and humidity were friendly toward us.
Tonight’s tarot card: theMagician (1), where shown on the card are a cup and a sword: ([A--] reads) “practitioner of infinity, source for new ideas, medium through which to see planets, a guide, a pointer to travel” ([Scribe] adds) “bringing forth: allowing us to see”
11:05 PM
1. Q: [Guide], are you there?
A: [NO] I [Guide 2] AM YOUR SERVANT FOR [THE] MOMENT
A first: a negative response to our standard opening question. More important, our first night without [Guide]’s guiding presence.
2. Q: Greetings, [Guide 2]. Are you here to help us with the rest of the puzzle?
A: I AM IN PART AND TO POINT TOWARD A LARGER PATTERN
3: Y: the Shape of the Daimon (cont’d)
3. Q: We must go back to Y. It is a reversible shape (we guess) that stands for the daimonic body.
A: EXCELLENT EACH OF YOUR JOIND GROUPS SEES HALF OF [THE]…
4. [THE] LINKD SHAPE
NOW LINK [THE] TWAIN
[A--]’s insight from the night before had had a day to sink in. The Y actually is but half of a larger shape, a double Y, where the first represents the daimonic connection with a circle (between [Scribe] & me, via [Guide], for example), while the second connects one circle to its circle neighbor ([A--]’s).
5. Q: The twain are CUP & SWORD?
A: [YES] [THE] SWORD IS [THE] NEAREST NEIGHBOR TO [THE] VESSEL [CUP]
6. Q: Does that work reciprocally?
A: [THE] [CUP] MAY SEE THINGS INVISIBLE TO SWORD
SWORD PERCEIVES MUCH [THE] [CUP] ONLY DREAMZ
Are these equivalent or merely symmetrical roles? (Nothing in vain.)
7. Q ([A--]): This is a symbiotic relationship between two groups.
A: [YES] EACH NEEDS [THE] O[THE]R TO EXTEND ITS CAPACITIES
8. Q: The shape Y cannot be arbitrary. Help us to understand.
A: IT IS A FORM OF [THE] BODY
[Albion] AND [Scribe] IMAGINE YOURSELVES STANDING ARMS UPRAIZD ASKING…
9. AID AND TO BE FILLD
10. NOW TO A
IMAGINE YOUR GROUP DESCEDING FROM [THE] SKY AND SEEKING
A PLACE OF RECEPTION
EACH Y HAS NEED TO FORM A MORE COMPLETE STRUCTURE
Y Y
[Scribe] has “[sic]” here in the originals, though I can’t find the error.
1:00 AM
[Q11 censored because it relies on [Guide]'s name.]
Circle Sword
12. Q: Is it time now to ask about the group in which you are the visiting daimon?
A: [YES] LET US GO [a] STEP AT A TIME
FIRST [THE] GROUP SWORD HAS EXACTLY [THE] SAME NUMBER
OF MEMBERS AS [THE] GROOOP [CUP]
That is, eight including the daimon, though excluding the Jewel itself.
13. Q: We know of you, [Guide 2]. And we know of [A--], also called A. We guess
Josef is common to both groups. Comment?
A: I JOSEF AM WITH YOU AND AM MASTER OF DR…
14. DREAMS IN BOTH CIRCLES
I WILL GUIDE YOU BOTH APART & IN NEW FORMS OF
COLLABORATION
15. Q: Josef, we greet you. Is it meet for us to know more of Group Sword?
A: [YES] I WILL TELL YOU OF IT TOMORROW BUT FIRST ASK
ABOUT [THE] MEASURE OF [THE] DAIMON [Guide 2] HIMSELF/
DREAM WELL AMID [THE] STARS
I JOSEF AM WITH YOU ALL
1:45 AM
Our shortest session ever, very little to absorb, although at the time of this typing (11/5/05) I can’t recall if there were circumstances that promoted such brevity. That is, no one was sick; I don’t recall our being exhausted; and there were no crying children needing attention. I don’t recall anything. And yet the margin times indicate we were at work a full two hours and forty minutes. [A--] must have had several smokes, while perhaps this was the night we broke at length to let housemate [J--] train Oreo, his amazing mold-sniffing Labrador mix, whose kennel stood but a few feet from our sessions. Trained never to bark, she still got quite excited when [J--] returned home to let her out and feed her. I do recall gyrating with my eyes closed to one of [Guide 2]’s responses, as Oreo’s wet nose and tail smacked me several times. No sign of her influence in the transcripts of course. Again, I think we could now ouija in [Scribe's neighborhood pub] at peak hour and still get clear messages.
